Procedural Footnote Language

Sometime around 2001 I was on a private mailing list on which the members started using footnotes heavily and in a rather quirky manner. Being the geek I am, I drafted the specifications for a sort of footnote-based programming language. I even submitted it to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for consideration as an internet standard. Sadly, it was not accepted – a slight I can only attribute to blatant favoritism.
